Renaissance was the first photograph I designed for Arte Palomo. In 2020, at the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic most of us had to stop our work activities and stay at home. No doubt, these were days of much reflection and analysis. Personally, for me was having to stop and come to accept that life can go at any moment. I could not stop thinking whether I was satisfaced with what I have done with mine so far or not. The answer was, I was not! That there was still much to do and that I could not waste my time any longer in things that are not worth it. There is no purpose in keep doing it. I needed a change of heart and to renew my mind, heal it and clear it up from so much rubbish and go in a different direction.
For me "Renaissance" represents that moment in life where we are given the opportunity to make a change and walk in another direction, sometimes opposed to where you used to walk.
I had a polystyrene head and intervened. For a creative artist this is the best way to get rid of stress, in the making I couldn´t stop thinking that this head reflected all the change I needed to do. All of us at some point need a change, is not only to recognize it but to actually get up the chair and do it.
And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
